About us

The Federal Government College, Ilorin opened on February 15, 1973, on a temporary site along Lagos Road. On admission were 145 Students made up of 116 boys and 29 girls, most of them were registered for Form One but a few came in for the sixth-form (HSC).

In September 1976, the School moved to its 80-hectare permanent site along Ilorin-Igbeti Road.
